The Wanderer

My name is Ellie, 19 years old. I am a reader and a writer. I am also completely biased. I admire people who write because they want to.

Because a person can get so caught up in the details that they miss the whole. It’s not just the dress or the hair. It’s you. You’re beautiful. So beautiful, it hurts me.

Vampire Academy

  • Rose: Does my house arrest mean I can't go to church?
  • Kirova: I beg your pardon?
  • Rose: You said that whenever I'm not in class or practice, I have to stay in the dorm. But what about church on Sundays? I don't think it's really fair to keep me away from my religious...um, needs.
  • Kirova: I wasn't aware you had any religious needs.
  • Rose: I found Jesus while I was gone.

List: January 2014 reads.

If my goal was 300-400 books for this year, I’d be so behind on schedule. But since I decided to tone down reading for this year (only a hundred this year, but we’ll see really), I’m right on schedule and maybe a few books ahead. Here’s a list and I don’t count them before I list them down so I don’t know how much I read so far but I doubt there’s more than 20 in this list. (Forgive any grammatical error, my eyes are ready to shut down.)

List: Favorite reads from 2013.

I swore I’d do this on the second day of the year. But I got too lazy and maybe a little too busy with a new member of the family (my dog, Max Vandenbark - named after Max Vandenburg from Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief).

So anyway, here’s a list of books that I read last year that really stuck with me (in a good way).

  1. Maureen Johnson, John Green, Lauren Myracle - Let It Snow
  2. John Green, David Levithan - Will Grayson, Will Grayson
  3. Isaac Marion - Warm Bodies
  4. Beth Revis - As They Slip Away
  5. Chris Colfer - Struck By Lightning
